LOS ANGELES (AP) - Brittney Griner of Baylor, Skyler Diggins of Notre Dame and sisters Nnemkadi and Chiney Ogwumike of Stanford are among 15 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award given to college basketball's top female player.
The finalists were announced Wednesday. The winner will be announced April 6 at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
Griner and Nnemkadi Ogwumike were finalists last year, when UConn's Maya Moore won for the second time.
Griner is sixth in the nation in scoring with 23.8 points per game and the junior center leads the country in blocked shots with 5.1 for top-ranked Baylor, which is 31-0 so far.
Nnemkadi Ogwumike leads the Pac-12 in scoring with 21.6 points per game and is second in rebounding and free-throw percentage.
