Greenville Police Release New Photos In Alicia Moore Case
GREENVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police have released new photos in the case of Alicia Moore, hoping someone will identify a possible witness in the case.
Greenville Police have had few clues to go on in trying to find the killer of Moore, 16, who disappeared a week ago, seconds after she got off a school bus at a bus stop just around the corner from her house. Days later, Moore was found stuffed in a trunk that was dumped in Wills Point, about 45 minutes away from Greenville.
Police released two surveillance photos from inside the school bus that show what appears to be a Chrysler or Dodge minivan directly behind the bus. Police are hoping someone can identify the driver of that vehicle as a possible witness.
The missing persons report that was filed the night Moore disappeared was also released by police. The document revealed Moore's mother told police her daughter had previously befriended an older man. She also told police her daughter had runaway before but had never stayed away this long and believed that her daughter "may have done it again."
Community members held a vigil for Moore and her family at the Greenville Sports Park.
Close to 50 people arrived to pray, and offer their support for the Moore family.
The mood was somber, but attendants said they are also fearful because no arrests have been made in the case.
"I have nieces. I have one that's in 8th grade and she is petrified," said Lisa Hawkins, a Greenville resident at the vigil. "To us, they are still out there."
Students made a banner for people to sign.
Moore's aunt, Jessica Byrd, addressed the crowd. "I couldn't count on the people who are supposed to serve and protect us but I like how the city of Greenville stepped up and helped us out," Byrd said.
Byrd broke down at the vigil, praying, like everyone in Greenville that answers will come soon.
Minutes before Greenville High School's Friday night football game, there was a moment of silence to honor Moore.
Moore will be laid to rest on Saturday, November 17th at 11 a.m. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
