Grapevine Police ID Sex Offender Who Talked To Children In Store
GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) - Grapevine Police have identified a registered sex offender as the suspect in the case of a man who made lewd comments about children inside a Target on Sunday afternoon.
Detectives are actively seeking 38–year-old Kenneth Dewayne Roblez of Dallas.
Roblez is wanted for a parole violation warrant.
According to one victim's mother, he walked past her nine year old daughter and said, "I want to slap your *** so bad right now."
Police say he then approached a second mother and made comments about her 11 year old daughter. The victim said they were so sexually explicit they could not be repeated for broadcast.
"Several different people identified him as a possible suspect and then we've had several different people confirm his identity to us," said police spokesperson, Amanda McNew.
Court records show Roblez was convicted of exposing himself to an 8-year-old girl in 2004 and 2005. He's also currently wanted for violating parole. Grapevine police say he is a public safety threat and are urging anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately.
"Do not talk to this man. Get to a safe place and call us," said McNew. "As soon as someone sees him, we want to go get him."
Grapevine Police said they are working with other law enforcement agencies as well, and believe Roblez may also be linked to similar incidents in Plano.
"Roblez' whereabouts are unknown, and we continue to seek the public's help in locating him. We believe he is a threat to public safety and ask anyone who may see him to call 911 immediately," Grapevine Police said in a news release on Thursday.
