GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) - Grapevine Police are looking for a shoplifter who fractured the skull of an employee who confronted him. The 51-year-old victim is out of intensive care but still in Parkland Hospital according to a family member.
Surveillance video shows what police describe as a Hispanic man walking into the Grapevine Walmart about 6 pm Thursday. He took a shopping cart to the electronics section where he took two computers, two surveillance systems and some toiletries off the shelf.
He left through the garden department police said, where an employee confronted him. The suspect hit the employee with some type of hard object, fracturing his skull.
He drove away in a 2001-2006 champagne colored Chevy Tahoe. It may have a bumper sticker on the left rear bumper.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
