Grand Prairie Workers Rally To Save Jobs
GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Employees with Triumph Aerostructures will hold a rally at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday in hopes of saving their jobs. The United Aerospace Workers Union is expected to explain why they think that the Grand Prairie plant is about to close, shedding thousands of jobs in the process.
The company has about 6,000 employees across six locations, two of which are in North Texas. The Vought Aircraft Division manufactures military, commercial and business aircraft. The Grand Prairie plant has been operating since 1949, but there is now speculation that it will be forced to close, putting thousands of jobs in jeopardy.
The union has not released detailed information about the rally or the potential loss of jobs.
