Grand Prairie Rolls Out Campaign Against Texting While Driving

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBDFW.COM) - City officials said Saturday that they're ready to move ahead with their campaign against texting while driving.

Starting September first, drivers caught texting or emailing while driving will receive a citation. Violations carry fines up to $200.

Signs are already up through out Grand Prairie warning drivers about the new ordinance.

Police Chief Steve Dye said he hopes the new law will serves as a reminder for drivers to break the risky habit of texting behind the wheel.
