Grand Prairie Man Suspected In Double Murder Arrested In New Mexico
GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) -- A 45-year-old man suspected of murdering his girlfriend and her teenage daughter was arrested in New Mexico on Monday.
Authorities have begun the extradition process to bring the suspect, Kirkland Reed, back to Texas.
The suspect and his murdered girlfriend, 44-year-old Jennifer Krieger, were living together in the 1800 block of Sandra Lane in Grand Prairie. Police responded to this location over the weekend after a family member of Krieger became concerned.
Grand Prairie police arrived at the location and forced entry into the home, where they found the mother and daughter deceased.
The suspect was taken into custody on Monday at a hospital in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It is unclear as to why he was seeking medical attention.
Grand Prairie police have traveled to New Mexico to interview the suspect and collect additional evidence.
The juvenile victim attended a school in the Grand Prairie ISD. The district was notified of the incident on Monday. Crisis counselors were made available at the victim's school on Tuesday.
