Grand Prairie Man Headed To Federal Prison For Child Pornography

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A Grand Prairie man has been sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison following his guilty plea to felony child pornography charges.

Kevin Miles, 44, was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison followed by 10-years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty in April 2013 to one count of transportation of child pornography.

Miles worked from home as a computer software support technician and was identified during a 2012 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigation as sharing child pornography from his computer.

Police obtained a search warrant and found 422 images and 33 videos classified as child pornography on Miles' computer. Investigators also found several chats on Miles computer where he talked about the exploitation of children and his interest in molesting small children.

Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice, was instrumental in the prosecution of this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Camile Sparks prosecuted the case.
