Grand Jury Declines To Indict Torii Hunter's Son

DALLAS (AP) - A grand jury has declined to indict the teenage son of Detroit Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter after a sexual assault allegation.

Darius McClinton-Hunter had been charged with four others in a sexual assault case in Collin County, north of Dallas. A grand jury indicated Wednesday that there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute him.

Police in the town of Prosper accused McClinton-Hunter of forcing himself on a teenager. McClinton-Hunter's attorney, Todd Shapiro, denied the allegations.

Shapiro said Wednesday that McClinton-Hunter was "elated" and hopeful he could resume playing football. He said the 18-year-old missed his senior year at Prosper High School and colleges stopped recruiting him.

A co-defendant, Garrick White, was indicted for unlawful restraint of a child. White's attorney, Coleman Sylvan, says he has serious questions about the case.
