Perry's Wife Announces Dallas Event To Discuss Country's Future
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Former Texas Governor Rick Perry may announce his decision on whether to make another run for the White House within three weeks.
His wife, Anita Perry, under the Twitter handle AnitaPerryTX, posted the following message to her followers on Friday morning, ".@GovernorPerry & I have been discussing the future of this great country and how our family can play a role."
The tweet links to an event page where supporters can register for tickets to the June 4 event from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. A location for the event is not listed.
The tweet and event page do not make any mention of a Presidential bid, but the event page lists RickPAC, a federal political action committee which was established by Perry in August 2014, with a mission of getting Republican candidates elected across the country.
An email invitation to the event begins as follows, "America is facing a time of testing, and it's clear that we need principled leadership and an optimistic vision to see us through after eight years of the Obama Administration."
Perry, who ran for President in 2012, only to drop out after several memorable mistakes, has previously said he would make a decision and announce a 2016 bid in May or June. He has spent the past several months visiting early voting states like Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire.
