Goodbye, Khloe & Lamar - Hello Yu Euphoria
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The new star in town is from the land of the rising sun. How appropriate, since the sun finally set on Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian's brief stay in Dallas. "I never really liked her and the Kardashian group," said Ranger fan, Lauren Watterson. "I just think they're too much drama. They're out of Dallas and that's good for me," Watterson said as she laughed.
While Khloe and Lamar were saying goodbye to North Texas, Yu Darvish was pitching his first game Monday night as a Ranger.
Mika and Tak Fujita of Irving could not have been more excited for Darvish's debut. "It's a moment in history. It's great for Arlington, for Dallas and great for the fans of Japan," said Tak.
There were Darvish disciples everywhere at the Ballpark. One fan who looked almost identical to Darvish, except for the fact he stands 5' 5", introduced himself as Minivish. "He's a rock star. Everybody knows him," explained Minivish.
It's only his first game and "Yu euphoria" is in the air. More than 200 members of the Japanese media descended on Arlington to make sure the word, "hype", didn't get lost in translation.
Many Ranger fans are already buying in."He's a possible Cy Young winner," said Ranger fan, Marcus Davis. "I definitely have high expectations, but I definitely think he can follow through." Davis added.
Those expectations might have been lowered a tad after Darvish gave up four runs in the first inning. He later settled down, giving up just one more run before leaving the game in the 6th inning.
So Yu? It's all up to you. Because as Khloe and Lamar can attest to; North Texans love to say howdy, but they won't hesitate to say, so long.
