Girls Sell $20,000 Worth Of Lemonade For Fallen Officers

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A continuous act of kindness is once again touching the hearts of Dallas Police Officers.
A group of young ladies known as the "Lemonade Girls" started a lemonade stand back in July after the ambush killings of 5 Dallas Police Officers.
Their goal was to raise money for the families of the fallen officers.
In their first weekend they managed to raise 10-thousand dollars. Since then they've doubled that, and on Tuesday they presented the Dallas Police Officers Association with a $20,000 check.
Landry Nelon, one of the "Lemonade Girls" said, "I really felt like I needed to help those people who just lost a major part of their family."
Another "Lemonade Girl", Lauren Roach added "We thought we would be lucky to get $100. We never thought we would get this much."
The check was given to the Dallas Police Association in front of handfuls of other police officers who in turn gave the girls cookie jars shaped like police cars as a token of their appreciation.
Dallas POA President, Ron Pinkston said, "No words can tell you how much we appreciate that."
The girls say the Dallas community poured out support for their fundraiser, and they thank the all the strangers who stopped by their lemonade stand to make a donation.
Nelon added, "When something bad happens the world has to pick each other up and we all have to come together to help those people that the bad thing happened to."
