Get Your "Formal Excuse" To Attend The Mavs Game Tomorrow

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Your palms are sweaty, your breathing is labored, you're wondering what a made up excuse will do to your character... we understand. We want to see the Dallas Mavericks face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow too! Thank goodness the Mavs have just made it super easy.
You could start off watching the Dallas Mavericks Pre-Game show on TXA 21 at 5:30 p.m. or just stay on TXA 21 and see the game starting at 6:00 p.m. -- but what if you want to be there in person?
Thursday has been "officially" declared Mavs Skip Day! All Mavs Fans For Life (MFFL's) are being encouraged to get to the American Airlines Center early. Those doing so will enjoy $2 hotdogs and the first 1,500 fans will receive a free Mavs cap.
But wait, there's more! All 20,000 fans will get a Mavs Blue Playoff T-Shirt in their seat and 15,000 Team Posters will be distributed at the exits.
OMG! This sounds so great, but the doors open early at 4:00 p.m. and I have that whole 'job thing.' Well, the Mavs are also providing something for those fans wanting to leave work early, so as not to get caught up in that I-35E traffic -- an "official" late note excuse.
The note details how owner Mark Cuban is planning an inspirational speech (a la "Braveheart") complete with Scottish-period wartime apparel. But more importantly excuses you for the first home game of the NBA Playoffs
Mavs fans are also being encouraged to use #MavsSkipDay and post your excuse notes and photos online.

Remember, if you're using your Mavs Skip Day to head home and be settled squarely on your sofa by tipoff, tune in and watch the Mavericks face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder on TXA 21 starting at 5:30 p.m., the playoff game at 6:00 p.m. and ending with the TXA 21 Dallas Mavericks post show immediately after the game.
