Garrett, Jerry On 'Same Page' With Romo
IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) -- Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett have been inconsistent in relaying the team's plans for Tony Romo this weekend in Miami. But according to Jerry, the two are very much on the "same page".
"Yes we are. We are completely on the same page," said Jones with the G-Bag Nation on 105.3 The Fan.
Romo, who is still recovering from back surgery in December, took 16 snaps in last week's home game against the Ravens.
Garrett has been non-committal this week when discussing the team's plans. Jerry wouldn't put a play-count on Romo, but did emphasize the importance of seeing his offensive leader on the field.
"We don't want to risk him getting banged up or any player for that matter -- four days, five days before we play San Francisco. But we've got time," said Jones. "You want some snaps. We know it would be good for him to be with his group and having different color jerseys playing against. All that would be good."
"Whether or not it happens to the tune of 15 plays, 13 plays, or 20 plays has everything to do with how those series go."
The Cowboys had the ball nearly the entire first quarter against Baltimore, eating the clock and moving the ball.

Last season, Romo played the first and second quarters in the team's next-to-last preseason game, which is often viewed as the regular season dress rehearsal.
Might he play more this year?
"I can tell you that he almost assuredly won't be in there in the third quarter," said Jerry.
So why are Jason and Jerry conveying different messages?
"The facts are that Jason doesn't check with me on where he dots his 'i's and says his 'v's, and I sure don't check with him."
