Garland Man Pleads Guilty To 3 Bank Robberies

DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas-area bank robber whose mother identified him to the FBI faces up to 20 years in prison for three holdups last year.

Prosecutors say 19-year-old Anthony Blue of Garland pleaded guilty Tuesday in Dallas to three counts of bank robbery.

Sentencing has been set for April 9 for Blue, who was captured after his mother called the FBI to say she believed her son robbed two banks last June 14.

Investigators say Blue held up State Bank of Texas in Garland, then robbed Community Bank in Rockwall by using the same note demanding cash.

Authorities say Blue robbed American Nation Bank in Quinlan last July 8 using a different note.

Nobody was hurt. Officials did not immediately release further details on the stolen cash.
