Garland Man Arrested, Accused Of Killing His Mother
GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - A 28-year-old Garland man is behind bars, accused of killing his own mother.
Garland police say Deon Evans killed his 58-year-old mother, Desni Bowie-Green at her home, in the 1200 block of Blanco Circle.
Police received a call from friends of the woman on Sunday.
"[They had] concerns I think, probably because of the relationship between her son and her," explained Garland police spokesperson Joe Harn, "And some friends… once they could not get ahold of her that's when they called us to go check on her."
Through their investigation, police know Bowie-Green was still alive Sunday morning.
"We do know that she had been at church yesterday morning and when we got there a little before 3:30 p.m., in her home yesterday afternoon, she had been murdered," Harn said.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office is performing an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Police have not released a motive for the alleged murder.
Deon Evans is being held in the Garland Jail on $1,000,000 bond.
