GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - A church in Garland put out the call they were accepting donations after the tornados and received enough supplies to fill eight rooms of their church. Now, they need victims to know the items are ready for pick up.

Youth Pastor at Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Garland, Dwayne Pano, came up with the idea hours after the first tornado hit North Texas.

Pano posted on Facebook that the church was taking donations and help came pouring in.

The have rooms filled with baby clothes, women's jackets, men's clothes, toiletries and food waiting for victims and their families.

"It's humbling, it really is. It's a humbling feeling to know in the midst of tragedy. Even if you don't really say a word, people are going to come by," said Pano.

Now, the church needs to get the items to all of the people in need.

Pano said anyone affected by Saturday's tornados can pick up clothes, toiletries, baby items and food at Hebron Baptist Church at 1233 Hwy 66 in Garland.

CBS11 was there when Dana Smith and her family showed up. Their home was lost when a tornado hit Rowlett.

"We were in the closet when it came through and when we came out there was no house, just a closet and god's angels protecting us," said Smith.

Smith said she is so grateful for the help

"Today, I got to benefit from this love and kindness that they don't have to do," said Smith.

Volunteers said they still need several items including baby food, diapers, paper products and non-perishable food.

Pano said items can be dropped off between 10a.m. to 3p.m. at Mount Hebron Baptist Church 1233 Hwy 66 Garland, TX 75040 and tornado victims can come to the church at anytime to get what they need.
