Garland Changes Its Stage 3 Watering Schedule

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Garland has implemented a new watering schedule for both its residential and business customers. This change is necessary due to unexpected peak demands on the city's water system, according to a release, under the previous city-wide Saturdays only watering schedule.

Residents are allowed to water their lawns once a week based on their trash pickup schedules. Garland businesses are allowed to base their watering day on the residential schedule at their specific locations based on this map.

"Garland Water Utilities appreciates its customers' efforts in conserving water. Through their diligence, we have successfully met our reduction goals," Managing Director, John Baker said in a press release. "We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, but it is necessary to assure system reliability during high demands."

Any business or resident who previously applied for and received a water variance is allowed to continue to water according to the terms of that variance. Garland asks other homeowners to water their lawns on their new designated watering day.
