FWPD Asking For Help Identifying Fatal Hit & Run Driver
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The search is on in Fort Worth for a hit and run driver after a boy was struck and killed while riding his bicycle.
Deston Bibbs had just ridden his bike across a field Thursday evening. He was crossing the street, at the intersection of Sycamore School Road and Crowley Road, when a large truck or SUV, turning right, hit him and kept going. The type of vehicle was identified by the tire marks left on the teenager's clothes.
The 14-year-old boy's injuries included several broken bones and severe head trauma.
Deston, a 7th grader at H.F. Stevens Middle School in the Crowley ISD, was taken to a nearby hospital, but was later pronounced dead.
Police are reviewing Red Light Camera video and surveillance tapes in the crash area and are hoping to learn more information about the suspect vehicle.
