FWISD Debuts Documentary To Remember JFK Assassination
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Fort Worth ISD is remembering the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy with a short documentary.
Several former students, teachers, administrators appear in the 13-minute video to share their memories of November 22, 1963.
Two former students Debby Williams and Taddie Hamilton, who shook the hand of the President Kennedy that morning, are interviewed.
Also included are local historian and author Ruby Cary; Superintendent Walter Dansby, former FWISD principal and teacher, Robert Y. Rodriguez, Fort Worth ISD administrator Mariagrazia Sheffield, and Barbara Sills, a former FWISD teacher who taught Lee Harvey Oswald.
The documentary also features an interview with CBS 11's own Investigative Producer Jack Douglas, Jr. Douglas was a 12-year-old student at the time, who took a phone call from Oswald's mother after the assassination.
