Frisco Teacher, Coach Arrested For Alleged Sexual Assault Of Child
FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) -- A teacher and coach at Wakeland High School in Frisco has been arrested for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 14 year old girl.
Marc Alan Carden, 30, was arrested on Wednesday for sexual assault of a child. Lieutenant Jason Jenkins with Frisco Police says the victim is a student, but not a student at Wakeland.
According to the arrest warrant, the teen told her parents she was sleeping over a friend's house, but never showed up there the night of January 11. When her parents tried to call her, the teen didn't answer her cell phone. Her dad then pulled the teen's phone records and called one of her frequently dialed numbers that he didn't recognize. Police later determined the number belonged to Marc Carden. With her parents permission, police were able to pull deleted messages from the teen's phone, which included several conversations about sex. In one of the messages, the teen told Carden sex with him was "painful." The two also discussed Carden getting a hotel room the night the teen went missing. Carden told her to enter the hotel from the side door after he checked in, according to police.
The Frisco Independent School District, which has cooperated fully, has placed Carden on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
The district released the following statement in response to the arrest.
"We received information the weekend of January 11 making us aware of a concern about a possible inappropriate relationship; the police were also contacted. The District has cooperated fully with the authorities in order to not jeopardize the criminal investigation and all appropriate actions and requirements have been and are being taken. Mr. Carden has not been at work since the allegation. Allegations and charges of this nature are disturbing and we take these matters very seriously."
Carden is currently free on $5,000 bond.
"At this time we have no information that indicates that there are any other victims," said Lieutenant Jenkins. "Of course we always encourage our parents to talk to their children."
