LITTLE ELM (CBSNewsTexas.com) - A 17-year-old high school senior from Frisco was killed Saturday night when gunfire erupted at a birthday party in Little Elm.

Keith Slaughter was killed, and a female victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police found a third victim two streets away.

His mother says he had never been in a fight with anyone and she does not believe he was the intended target.

"He's just a simple kid that was enjoying life and trying to find his best ways to make his life, his outcome, what he wanted it to be," said Natasha Slaughter, Keith Slaughter's mother. "He was very loving, very supportive and nurturing. He had a kind heart, and he was protective of his heart, but it was definitely very kind."

A Frisco ISD spokesperson says his school acknowledged Slaughter's death during second period on Monday and has counselors available to students who need them.

Police released two videos on Monday that they hope will lead them to Slaughter's killer.

Surveillance video from neighbors shows two people running to a dark-colored vehicle and fleeing the area after the shooting.

A second video shows three people in dark-colored hoodies walking nearby. They start to run when they hear police sirens. They're hoping someone will recognize the persons of interest or the vehicle.

Police have not yet released a possible motive in the shooting or the names or updated conditions of the other two victims.

If you have any information about what happened, they're asking that you reach out to them immediately.
