Frisco Murder Could Be Related To Cash & Gold Business
FRISCO (KRLD) - The man gunned down in a residential neighborhood in Frisco may have been killed because of a business deal. Kenneth Andrews, 47, was found shot in the 7900 block of Gulf Street and was later pronounced dead at Centennial Medical Center.
Frisco Police Sgt. Adam Henderson says investigators believe Andrews was murdered over something connected to his cash exchange business.
"Initial investigation by our detectives has indicated that they believe it is an isolated incident involving the victim and possibly his dealings as a Cash-For-Gold Exchange merchant," said Henderson.
Meanwhile, the man seen running away from the shooting, in the Preston Lakes subdivision, is still on the loose and that has some people concerned.
"There's been a lot of apprehension about the individual who is suspected of doing this not being in custody," said Sgt. Henderson, "and we want to let people know again we do believe it is a directed incident toward the victim and it is not random."
After the shooting three nearby schools were temporarily put on lockdown, but there was no criminal activity or injuries at any location.
Sgt. Henderson is hoping the case will be solved quickly. "Our investigators are actively working the case [and] have many leads to follow-up with," he said. "Again, we have many good leads and a lot of good information that we're working with, so we're very confident that we'll be able to bring this to a very good resolution."
Police also believe they have a good idea who the shooter was.
