Frisco High Student Believed To Have Mumps

FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - A student at Frisco High is believed to have the mumps according to the Collin County Health Department.
The teen may have exposed classmates around mid to late November.
Other North Texas counties are dealing with mumps outbreaks.
So far, Johnson County has the most with about 50 cases involving children and adults.
If your child is vaccinated against mumps, his or her risk of getting mumps is very low, says the Collin County Health Department.
But it is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of mumps, because you can still get mumps even if you have been vaccinated.
Mumps symptoms include swollen glands around the ears along with headaches and low-grade fever.
