Frisco Gets New ZIP Code After Heavy Growth
FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) – Frisco residents now have five-digit proof that their town's population has ballooned to more than three times the size it was 10 years ago.
On Sunday, city leaders announced that more than 10,000 residents and 400 businesses will soon attach a new ZIP code to their addresses. According to U.S. Census Data, just 33,714 residents lived in Frisco in 2000. The 2010 Census found that the city's population has more than tripled to 116,989.
The pocket north of Main Street, west of State Highway 289, east of FM 423 and south of U.S. Highway 380 will use the new ZIP code, 75033.
But there's more: Residences or businesses on Main Street that have odd-numbered addresses will use the old ZIP code, 75034. Only even numbers get the new one. And addresses on FM 423 between Main Street and Eldorado Parkway get to use the new 75033 as well.

City officials say residents will need to "notify any mailers or correspondents" if their zip code has changed. The post office has notification postcards, they added.
There's no need to submit a change of address request, though.
"The current ZIP Code 75034, has grown along with the City of Frisco and is running out of the PLUS-FOUR-DIGITS that are assigned to five-digit ZIP Codes. The PLUS-4s are needed to sort, ship and deliver mail, directly to a house, apartment or business address," read a news release.
The new ZIP code is effective July 1. This gives the city three ZIP codes: 75033, 75034 and 75035.
CORRECTION: The City of Frisco initially said areas west of State Highway 380 would use the new ZIP code. That should've said State Highway 289.
