Frisco Considers Installing Intersection Roundabouts
FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - Frisco is set to hold the first town hall meeting of 2013 on Thursday night.
One topic up for discussion will likely be a proposal for traffic 'roundabouts.'
The city is considering installing the circular intersections to curb traffic along busy Ohio Drive. Roundabouts are sometimes used in place of traffic lights to keep cars moving.
With thousands of people moving to Frisco each year, the city has had some traffic growing pains. According to U.S. Census data, fewer than 35,000 people lived in Frisco in the year 2000. In 2010 the city's population had more than tripled to more than 115,000.
If approved the city would first begin with a roundabout at Ohio Drive and Warren Parkway and possibly construct more at other locations.
The town hall meeting begins at 7 p.m. at city hall,located at 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard.
