Free Downtown Dallas Shuttle Service Begins
DALLAS (AP) - A new Dallas shuttle bus service will help highlight the city's history and cater to crowds expected for the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit officials say the free D-Link started rolling Monday through downtown and the Oak Cliff neighborhood.
The route features more than 30 stops with hop on-and-off service, including near the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. It's along the motorcade route where JFK was fatally shot on Nov. 22, 1963.
The Dallas City Council in September agreed to share bus costs with DART and the business group Downtown Dallas Inc. The buses run from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Passengers wanting to transfer to regular bus and rail services must buy a DART pass.
