DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Zoo is offering free entry this weekend with donations for tornado victims.

As part of the Dallas Zoo's "Zoo Unto Others" program, the 128-year-old park says it's giving back to the local communities and residents who are suffering in the wake of the Dec. 26 tornadoes.

To help those in need, both people and four-legged friends, the zoo is collecting canned goods and pet supplies Saturday, Jan. 16, and Sunday, Jan. 17.

Each guest who brings two cans of food, or like-new pet supplies (dog/cat food, leashes, collars, blankets, beds, treats, toys), will receive free admission for that day.

Donations will be delivered next week to the North Texas Food Bank, the City of Rowlett Animal Shelter, Garland Animal Services and Animal Hospital of Garland.
