FORT WORTH — A Fort Worth daughter is mourning the loss of her father, 62-year-old Ricky Langs, after police say he was killed in a suspected road rage incident on East Loop 820 and Randol Mill Road in East Fort Worth.

"I'm going to miss him laughing and having a good time," said daughter Shelby Johnson.

Johnson admits she's still grappling with the loss of her father and is still in disbelief that his daily phone calls and laughter are no longer a part of her life.

"When we always get off the phone, it wasn't a goodbye. It's a 'see you later.' You never say goodbye to each other," said Johnson.

Police responded to a shooting call Monday night around 7 p.m. Officers found Langs in his car with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was transported to the hospital where he later died. Police believe the shooting was an act of road rage and are still looking for a suspect.

"We didn't even get to talk that night," said Johnson with tears in her eyes. "He didn't text me that night, and we didn't get to say 'love you, love you' or 'talk more later.' None of that."

Johnson holds tight to memories now. Her father was known as a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, a sharp dresser, but his favorite role was "granddad." In fact, his last conversation with Johnson was about his grandkids.

"That was the last thing we talked about was Elijah, my son. I find comfort that was my last conversation with him because he loved his grandkids. Everything was about them and me," said Johnson.

Johnson is now urging anyone to come forward if they know something that can bring their family closure and healing.

"I love you, Daddy. See you later. That's what I would say to him," said Johnson.
