Fort Worth Police: 2 Men Dead After Shooting At Home Depot

UPDATE 11:24 a.m.: Initially police said the two victims killed may have been in the process of robbing someone when they were shot. Investigators now say it "has not been determined" if the shooting happened during a robbery attempt.

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Fort Worth are investigating a Thursday night shooting in a Home Depot parking lot that left two men dead.

Investigators were called to the store, just off Interstate-35W and Sycamore School Road, just before 10:00 p.m.

When police got to the scene they found two men seriously hurt from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The pair were rushed to a nearby hospital but did not survive their injuries and were later pronounced dead.

Police say surveillance video from the store shows two men approaching a vehicle parked in the parking lot. At some point shots were fired and the person/persons in the vehicle drove away.

Police are asking anyone who was in that vehicle to contact Detective Watson at 817-392-4330.

The shooting is still under investigation.

The names of the individuals killed have not been released.

There was another police scene not far from the Home Depot where a FWPD officer crashed while heading to the shooting. That officer's injuries are not life-threatening.
