Fort Worth (CBSDFW.COM)
-Fort Worth Firefighters were faced with heavy flames at a lumber yard near the 2500 block of East Lancaster Avenue.

The fire happened around 5:30 Saturday morning. The smoke could be seen billowing over the area from miles away.

Neighbor Michael Patterson was awaken by the fire.

"I walked out of my front door. Saw a glow over the houses, and saw smoke rising above them," Patterson said.

Train service was halted on nearby tracks due to the close proximity to the fire.

E Lancaster was closed in either direction because of the sheer number of units responding to the scene. Units began a defensive attack on the fire using 2 ladder trucks and 5 engines. The street was expected to reopen by 10:00am.

Lieutenant Kyle Faulkner with the Fort Worth Fire Department says the business appeared to be vacant when crews arrived.

"There were high pressure cylinders involved in the early stages of the fire," says Lieutenant Faulkner who added that as a result there were multiple explosions at the scene. There were no injuries reported.

Fire Investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire.
