Fort Worth ISD School Bus Crashes Into Parked Truck
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A school bus was a block away from dropping off students at Polytechnic High School when it slammed into a parked vehicle.
Two teenaged students were on the bus when the crash happened.
"She [the bus driver] turned the corner, from McKenzie onto Avenue E, based on her statements as well as witness statements," explained Fort Worth Police Department Sergeant Pedro Criado. "She stated that she passed out briefly and collided with a truck that was parked legally here in Avenue E."
The owner of the pickup, Jose Martinez, said heard the crash and ran outside.
"I heard a big noise. I come outside and I got surprised because I see my truck way over there."
Martinez' pickup was pushed from the street back into his neighbor's front yard.
According to Sgt. Criado the bus driver said, "She was awoken after the crash, after the bus collided with the truck."
The bus driver received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation to try and determine why she passed out.

The two students were not hurt.
While police said their investigation is still in the "infancy stage" they do not foresee any charges being filed.
