Fort Worth ISD Announces New Job Opportunities
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - There are some new job opportunities in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
Tuesday afternoon administrators announced that they are now hiring teachers and other workers from outside the district.
The school district recently underwent a number of changes including, standardizing all the school schedules and adding or removing classes for efficiency.
The shift meant more than 200 teachers were placed in a district-wide pool that may have placed them at a new school and even performing a new job. Administrators say that pool of employees is almost completely assigned.
"We have been so successful in our staffing plans that we are now in the position of needing teachers from outside our district," Sammy Monge, with the FWISD, said in a press release statement.
The teaching positions became available after a number of resignations and retirements during the summer.
The Fort Worth ISD is currently looking to fill positions in elementary education, bilingual education and special education.
The district is also opening some non-teaching positions. The auxiliary jobs are unique because previously laid-off employees are being encouraged to reapply for the positions. The applications of former employees are being accepted before those from the public.
