Fort Worth Foursome Sentenced In Murder, Attempted Cover-Up
FORT WORTH, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Four Fort Worth individuals were sentenced to prison for their roles in a July 2012 murder and attempted cover-up.
In separate proceedings, four defendants reached agreements with Tarrant County prosecutors and pled guilty to their roles in the murder and dumping of Arturo Torres.
According to prosecutors, Torres' mother went to the Fort Worth Police in August 2012 and reported she had not seen her son Arturo in more than a week. She said she heard he had been killed at a residence on Irion Avenue in Fort Worth.
Witnesses reported that Torres and 38-year old Javier Hernandez had gotten into an argument at the suspected drug house, and Hernandez strangled Torres with a coax cable.
Police say Hernandez then asked 53-year old William Sisk, and his son, 24-year old Joseph Sisk to dispose of the body at their property in rural Wise County. Hernandez's girlfriend, 33-year old Rocksan Winterberg was ordered to follow the two men and serve as a distraction if police tried to stop them.
Following an investigation, police located the body of Torres at a dumpsite off County Road 4698 in Wise County,
Hernandez was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of Torres.
Both William and Joseph Sisk were each sentenced to four years in prison for tampering with physical evidence.
Winterberg was sentenced to two years for tampering with physical evidence.
