Fort Worth Fire Introduces New Ladder Truck

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth Fire Department's Station No. 24 held an open house Saturday to commemorate a new ladder truck going into service.

The new "Quint 24," according to FWFD, will provied emergency protection to the historic Handley neighborhood.

The open house, which lasted from 10 a.m. to noon on Forest Avenue, included specialty units from the Fire Safety House and clowns.

Also in attendance was Fire Chief Rudy Jackson, Mayor Betsy Price and Councilwoman Gyna Bivens of District 5.

According to a tweet from Fort Worth Fire Department, the new truck's ladder extends 105 feet into the air.

The Office of Emergency Management also presented emergency preparedness information to guests.
