5-Alarm Warehouse Fire Ruled Accidental
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Crews in Fort Worth battled a 5-alarm warehouse fire in the 2600 of Ludelle Street for more than four hours Friday afternoon.
The cause was "jammed machinery" and ruled accidental according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.
Around 4:30 p.m. the fire was under control.
A firefighter has suffered second-degree burns. Another firefighter suffered minor burns.
"He received burn injuries to his shoulders. He was part of the first crew that went in and began attacking the fire," said Fort Worth Fire Department PIO Lt. Kyle Falkner. "He's doing okay. Being transported as a precaution."
The fire was at a furniture storage warehouse. The roof collapsed.
The fire department said, due to smoke conditions anyone exposed to smoke south east of the fire advised to remain indoors and close windows and doors.
The "shelter in place" order was also lifted around 4:30 p.m., but the fire department said people should continue to avoid the area.

The fire started around noon, and firefighters were worried about what could be in that smoke.
Firefighters don't know what kind of chemicals are in the furniture.
There is also a chemical plant next to the warehouse that is on fire. They were worried the fire could spread to that.
Many Polytechnic Heights residents who were home went outside to get a look at the fire, including Troy Dunn.
"I didn't really know what it was. I was coughing a little bit more than normal," said Dunn.
The fire department will rotate one or two companies to keep watch over hot spots throughout the night.
