Fort Worth City Manager To Retire
CBS 11's Joel Thomas Reports:
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth City Manager Dale Fisseler is retiring. Sources said that the overseer of city operations will end his three-year stint at the end of this year.
Fisseler told the Fort Worth City Council during an early morning pre-council meeting, saying that he wants to spend more time with his family.
Fisseler has been saddled by years of budget cutbacks and layoffs, including a budget cycle for 2011 that is beginning with a $31 million shortfall.
Fisseler started with the city in 1990 as a water production superintindent. He is the city's 22nd city manager.
An assistant city manager will be named interim.
