Formula One Track Takes A Big Step
A Formula One race track in Austin takes two big steps, a location and a major investor. There is a new major investor and partner in the Formula One race track project which will be built on 900 acres in Southeast Travis County…Red McCombs…who says this will be more than just a race track. "I foresee in time we will have laboratories on this sight, we'll be testing the human will and we'll be testing the human endurance." McCombs, former pro-sports owner, car dealer, investor and philanthropist says partnerships with area education institutions are planned to carry out the research side of the track project. The first Gran Prix of the America's will be run at the facility in 2012.
