Former Probation Worker Guilty In Drug Case

DALLAS (AP) - An ex-probation official in Dallas County faces up to 20 years in prison for helping provide drugs to jail inmates and dating a suspect she was overseeing.
Selena Ball of DeSoto pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Ball and 10 others were indicted last November in what authorities say was a Dallas-area drug ring involving jail inmates.
Ball formerly was an electronic monitoring officer with oversight of Patrick Lenard. Investigators believe Ball and Lenard began a romantic relationship while he was jailed.
He allegedly convinced Ball to modify information on his case, not report alleged violations when he was free and to help hide drug money.
Lenard remains in custody pending trial on drug-related counts and for allegedly trying to intimidate witnesses.
