FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - An ex-pastor at a Virginia megachurch has been convicted of molesting two girls in the 1990s as a minister in Texas.

Geronimo Aguilar asked a judge in Fort Worth to decide his penalty. Aguilar could get life in prison when he's sentenced later this year.

A Tarrant County jury on Wednesday convicted the 45-year-old Aguilar of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was also convicted of three counts of sexual assault of a child under age 17 and two counts of indecency with a child.

Prosecutor say Aguilar abused the sisters in 1996 and 1997 while affiliated with New Beginnings International Church in Fort Worth.

Aguilar founded the Richmond Outreach Center in Richmond, Virginia, but was fired in 2013 amid the sex scandal.
