Former Dean Of SMU's Law School Must Admit Prostitution Charge To Get Deal

DALLAS (KRLD) - The attorney who led SMU's law school for 15-years has been put on pre-trial diversion for a prostitution charge.
John Attanasio was arrested in Collin County in February.
A KRLD legal analyst says to qualify for pre-trial diversion Attanasio has to admit to the prostitution charge. But if he successfully completes the program, his record will be wiped clean.
Attanasio was the dean of the law school from 1998 to 2013, when his contract was not renewed. The prostitution charge was a class B misdemeanor.
