Former Dallas Cop Named Chief In Phoenix
PHOENIX (AP) -- Daniel V. Garcia has been named Phoenix's new chief of police.
The hiring was announced Monday by Phoenix City Manager David Cavazos.
The 54-year-old Garcia served nearly 34 years in the Dallas Police Department and had been an assistant police chief since 2004.
He was one of six finalists for the Dallas police chief job in 2010.
Garcia will begin his new job in Phoenix in May.
