Former Cowboys RB Marion Barber Retires From NFL
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - 28 year old RB Marion Barber announced his retirement from the NFL on Friday. Barber spent his first six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before joining the Chicago Bears for the 2011 season.
"I want to thank everyone who gave me the opportunity to play, and I'm very thankful to have had the chance to suit up for two of the NFL's most storied organizations," Barber told ChicagoBears.com.
He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Minnesota. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2007.
The older brother of Houston Texans safety Dominique Barber and the son of former New York Jets running back Marion Barber, Jr., he retires with 4,780 yards rushing and 53 touchdowns in his career.
