Former Cowboys Player Lockhart Gets Locked Up
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A former Dallas Cowboys player was locked up on Wednesday, months before his trial.
Ex-linebacker Eugene Lockhart has been charged with committing a $20 million mortgage fraud scheme. But Lockhart was then also accused of violating orders from two judges who said that he could not commit any crimes while free and awaiting trial.
Federal prosecutors argued that Lockhart's bond should be revoked after he was arrested in Addison for public intoxication last October. On Wednesday, a judge agreed with prosecutors and revoked Lockhart's bond.
Lockhart was removed from the courtroom in handcuffs and will be held in prison until the outcome of his mortgage fraud trial. That trial is scheduled for August.
