Westbound I-635 at Garland Road in Dallas was shut down because it was completely flooded. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain fell in a three-hour time frame on Monday.

Two vehicles were disabled in the middle of the road. At one point, water was up to the windshield of the vehicles.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, far right lanes were getting by while crews were working in the road.

Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed traffic backed up about five miles. Delays were an estimated hour and a half.

Alternate routes included Northwest Highway.
