The Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex is home to almost as many museums as restaurants. From the quaint and quirky to the powerhouses of learning and appreciation, our urban settlement is coated with art, science, history and culture. Some even open their doors for free. There is no excuse for not filling up on cultured eye-candy in DFW.

It was the first children's museum in the state of Texas, and one of the few established in the entire United States. Today it houses dinosaurs, oil drilling technology and a tribute to 9-11 as well as entertaining and enthusiastically received temporary exhibits, like the upcoming Chuck Jones animation exhibit, the Indiana Jones exhibit and more.

Tragically unique, the Sixth Floor Museum combines media, interviews, videos and artifacts on permanent display with regular talks by witnesses of the infamous events that took place on November 22, 1963. The museum also hosts regular historical talks by experts in the field as well as activities in the hands-on research room, filled with artifacts from the era. Located in the actual book depository building from which Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly killed President Kennedy, the Grassy Knoll and Dealey Plaza a short stroll from the entrance to complete the historical experience that changed the world.
