First Lady Promoting Fitness In North Texas
DALLAS (AP) - First lady Michelle Obama spends the next two days in North Texas as she makes a three-day national tour to promote childhood fitness and the battle against childhood obesity.
Obama's first North Texas stop will be at Thursday's dinner hour in Fort Worth, where she'll preside over a roundtable dinner discussion at a Fort Worth restaurant with parents who are changing habits in their homes and communities.
On Friday, she'll join chef contestants from past seasons of the Bravo series "Top Chef" and members of the Dallas Cowboys to promote healthier food choices for students in the nation's schools. The chefs will compete in a health cooking contest with students at the Kleberg Rylie Recreation Center in southeastern Dallas.
