Final Fright For Hangman's House Of Horrors
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth will soon say farewell to a longtime Halloween attraction. This is the 25th year and final fright for the Hangman's House of Horrors. The popular haunted house is located about a mile west of downtown Fort Worth.
Officials with the production said that they have worked hard to keep it a family-friendly venue throughout the years. But the show will now come to an end.
The Hangman's House of Horrors has been scaring North Texans during the creepiest of seasons for a quarter of a century, all while raising money for local charities. The haunted house donates its earnings to nonprofit organizations -- five charities this year alone.
Many folks across North Texas have made memories at the venue, including a couple who tied the knot on Halloween night in 2010.
Of course, the Hangman's House of Horrors will be open Thursday for Halloween, with more than 300 spooky volunteers scaring visitors at their three-acre property. When the haunted house first opened in 1988, it was located across the street from its current location. It moved to the other side of Forest Park Boulevard in 1993.
This year, the Hangman's House of Horrors opened back in September, on Friday the 13th. The haunted house will close its doors for good on Saturday night.
