Filmmakers Looking For DFW Football Players

SOUTHLAKE (CBSDFW.COM) - Hollywood is coming to North Texas, and looking for a few good high school football players. The producers of an upcoming film called "One Heart" will be in Southlake next month for an open casting call.

Filmmakers are seeking males within the 18 to 25 age range who actually know how to play football. However, those who attend must not currently be participating on a high school or college football team.

The initial casting call will be held on September 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Southlake. Athletes who advance to the second round of casting will need to be available for on-field tryouts on September 11 and September 12.

The "One Heart" movie is about the 2008 high school football game between the Grapevine Faith Lions and Gainesville State School. The boys from Gainesville play no home games, have no cheerleaders and have no school band. When the teams squared off, fans of the Grapevine team lined up to support and cheer for both sides. Grapevine won the game 33-14. Producers felt that the story needed to be told.

Filming on "One Heart" will be taking place in the Dallas area this fall. The producers will also be casting for coaches, cheerleaders, fans and various other supporting roles. Click here for more information about the film and the entire casting process.
