Fiery Crash Kills One In Plano
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) -- A violent, rear-end crash resulted in the death of one person on the George Bush Turnpike service road in Plano overnight.
The accident occurred at 1:40 a.m. near Preston Road. Texas DPS Sergeant Lonny Haschel says a Nissan Altima traveling westbound was rear-ended by an Infinity.
The Altima subsequently exploded in flames, killing the driver at the scene.
Police believe the Altima was stopped for a red light.
"We don't know what color the light was as of right now," said Haschel. "That's under investigation. But that's our presumption at this point."
The driver of the Infinity fled the scene but was later located and transported to the hospital.
Haschel says the driver of the Infinity is likely to face charges.
